New Delhi, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the strength and aspirations of daughters in India during the 137th episode of his “Mann Ki Baat” program. He stated that the ambitions of Indian daughters extend beyond Earth, reaching into space.
PM Modi remarked, “Today, the power of our daughters is taking flight from the Earth to space. India is uniting thousands of daughters worldwide who dream of such possibilities, and this initiative is called Mission ShaktiSat.”
He explained that through this mission, 12,000 female students from 108 countries are gaining opportunities to learn satellite technology and advance in the field of innovation.
The Prime Minister noted that on National Space Day, celebrated on August 23, the beautiful vision of this mission was showcased in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The second phase of Mission ShaktiSat commenced at Gautam Buddha University, gathering nearly 100 students from various countries, including participants from remote areas of India.
He emphasized that the goal of this initiative is significant. A satellite, entirely designed by female students, is set to be launched into the Moon’s orbit.
PM Modi expressed confidence that many of these students will establish their identities in the fields of science, technology, and innovation in the future.
Mission ShaktiSat is a global space initiative connecting 12,000 girls from 108 countries with space technology and STEM education. The mission aims to empower girls in science and technology, teaching them everything from satellite construction to the intricacies of space science.
This initiative not only brings together Indian students but also girls from around the world, providing a platform for collaboration and innovation, ultimately aiming to elevate India’s status in the space sector.
