Indian Womens Cricket Team to Tour South Africa in December 2026 for T20 Series

Johannesburg, August 6: The Indian women’s cricket team will tour South Africa in December 2026, featuring a three-match T20 series. Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced this on Thursday.

According to CSA, the T20 series has been added to help prepare for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, scheduled for February 2027 in Sri Lanka.

In April, India toured South Africa in preparation for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where they faced a 1-4 defeat in a five-match T20 series. Now, the “Women in Blue” will have a chance to even the score.

The Indian and South African women’s teams will play a single Test match in Gqeberha from December 9 to 12. Following that, the three-match ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) ODI series will commence on December 16, with the first match taking place in Paarl. The second ODI will be held in Cape Town on December 19, while the third match is scheduled for Bloemfontein on December 22.

Both teams will begin the T20 series on December 26, with the first match in Benoni. The second match will take place in Potchefstroom on December 29, followed by the final match in Potchefstroom on December 30.

Welcoming the revised schedule, CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki expressed, “We are pleased to confirm the revised schedule for India’s tour of South Africa. The addition of the T20 international series during the festive season will ensure that our Proteas women’s team has the best preparation for next year’s inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka. India is one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and playing against them in all three formats will provide us with excellent competition as we prepare for another major ICC event.”

The new schedule between the two countries (local times) is as follows:

– Single Test: December 9-12, Gqeberha (10 AM)
– First ODI: December 16, Paarl (10 AM)
– Second ODI: December 19, Cape Town (2 PM)
– Third ODI: December 22, Bloemfontein (2 PM)
– First T20: December 26, Benoni (6 PM)
– Second T20: December 29, Potchefstroom (6 PM)
– Third T20: December 30, Potchefstroom (6 PM)
