Hobart, March 1: The Indian women’s cricket team suffered a significant defeat against Australia in the third ODI, losing by 185 runs. Chasing a daunting target of 410 runs at the Bellerive Cricket Ground, India was bowled out for just 224 runs. This loss resulted in a 0-3 series defeat for the Indian team. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur acknowledged that the team failed to deliver a strong performance in ODIs, unlike their T20 efforts.
After the match, Harmanpreet stated, “I believe our overall performance was not good. We did everything right in T20, but we did not play good cricket in ODIs. This was a major reason for our loss. The ODI format involves longer matches, and it is crucial to consistently perform well. We made too many mistakes.”
She praised the Australian team, saying, “The Australian team played excellent cricket and did not give us any chance to make a comeback.”
The Indian captain noted that there are valuable lessons to be learned from this series. She emphasized the need to reflect on how to improve their ODI performance. Regarding preparations for the upcoming sole Test match starting on March 6, she mentioned, “We have very little time to prepare. Now it’s time to trust ourselves and do the right things for the team.”
