Indian Women’s Cricket Team Announced for Australia Test

New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team for the solitary Test match against Australia has been announced. The 15-member squad will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur. The Test match is scheduled to be played in Perth from 6 to 9 March 2026.

Pratika Rawal, who was part of India’s World Cup-winning campaign before her injury, has also been selected in the Test squad. Wicketkeeper G. Kamalini has been ruled out of the Australia tour due to injury. In her place, selectors have included Uma Chetri in India’s T20 and ODI teams.

To date, India and Australia women’s teams have faced each other in 11 Test matches. India has won one match, Australia has won four, and seven Tests ended in draws. The last Test between the two sides was held from 21 to 24 December 2023, with India emerging victorious.

The Indian women’s team is scheduled to play three T20s, three ODIs, and one Test match in Australia. The series will begin with T20s, followed by ODIs, and conclude with the Test match.

Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (Vice-Captain), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh (Wicketkeeper), Uma Chetri (Wicketkeeper), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh Thakur, Sneh Rana, Kranti Gauhar, Vaishnavi Sharma, Sailee Satghare.

In addition, the selection committee has announced the India ‘A’ team for the Rising Star Women’s Asia Cup in Thailand, played in the T20 format.

Humaira Kazi, Vrinda Dinesh, Anushka Sharma, Diya Yadav, Tejal Hasabnis, Nandani Kashyap (Wicketkeeper), Mamta M (Wicketkeeper), Radha Yadav (Captain), Sonia Mendhia, Minnu Mani, Tanuja Kanwar, Prema Rawat, Sayma Thakkar, Jintamani Kalita, Nandani Sharma.

Diya Yadav and Mamta M still need to clear the fitness test to confirm their places.
