Amandeep Johal, CEO of DP World PGTI, stated, “Yuvraj, Veer, and Sapthak have earned this opportunity through their consistent performances, courage, and competitive spirit. Their selection demonstrates the strength of the domestic professional pathway created by DP World PGTI. Our aim is to provide Indian golfers with the right platform, exposure, and competitive environment alongside domestic and international players so they can succeed at higher levels. We wish the entire Indian golf team the best for the Asian Games and hope they return with memorable performances.”

India has a rich history in golf at the Asian Games, having won three gold and three silver medals to date.

The Indian quartet of Lakshman Singh, Rishi Narayan, Amit Luthra, and Rajiv Mohta won team gold at the 1982 Asian Games held in New Delhi, with Lakshman Singh also securing individual gold.

Shiv Kapoor furthered India’s golden legacy by winning individual gold at the 2002 Busan Asian Games. India also earned team silver medals at the 2006 Doha and 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.

Aditi Ashok won a silver medal in the women’s individual event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. With a balanced team, strong international experience, and recent good form, the Indian golf team aims to continue this legacy and present a strong challenge for podium finishes in Japan.
