Indian Embassy Issues Advisory for Citizens in Dubai, Urges Avoidance of Non-Essential Travel

New Delhi, March 3: The Indian Embassy in Dubai has issued an advisory for its citizens. It advises Indian nationals residing in the UAE to avoid non-essential travel.

The embassy posted on the social media platform X, stating, “Given the current situation in the area, all Indian citizens in the United Arab Emirates are advised to refrain from non-essential travel. Stay alert, remain cautious, and adhere to the safety guidelines and advisories issued by UAE authorities and the embassy.”

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are operating normally and will provide updates as necessary. For any emergency inquiries, Indian citizens in the UAE can contact the toll-free number: 800-46342 or WhatsApp at +971543090571.

This advisory follows drone attacks on the US Embassy in Riyadh, which resulted in a fire and damage. In response, the US Embassy issued its own advisory. They recommended a shelter-in-place order for Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran, and urged American citizens in Saudi Arabia to seek immediate shelter.

The statement read, “The US mission in Saudi Arabia is monitoring the situation. We advise all travelers to review our latest security alerts. Please reassess your travel plans in case of any disruptions and make informed decisions to keep yourself and your family safe.”

It further stated, “We encourage all American citizens to maintain a personal safety plan. Unexpected difficulties can arise while traveling or residing abroad, and a solid plan helps you think through potential situations and determine the best course of action in advance.”
