New Delhi, August 20: A significant opportunity is available for women aspiring to join the Indian Army. The Indian Army has issued an official notification inviting applications for several positions under the NCC Special Entry Scheme 125 Course (April 2027) for Short Service Commission (Non-Tech) specifically for unmarried women, including dependents of soldiers who lost their lives in combat.
The vacancies announced by the Indian Army for NCC women include five positions for the general category and one position reserved for dependents of personnel who were killed in action. The online application process commenced on July 21 at 3 PM, and the last date to apply is set for August 21. Eligible and interested candidates are advised to complete their registration on the Indian Army’s official website by Friday at 3 PM or earlier.
Candidates applying must possess a graduation degree from a recognized institution or university and must have achieved at least a ‘B’ grade in the NCC ‘C’ certificate exam. The minimum age for applicants is 19 years, while the maximum age is capped at 25 years, calculated as of January 1, 2027.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on application scrutiny, shortlisting, SSB interviews, medical fitness tests, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,100 during training, along with additional benefits and allowances.
Pre-commission training will take place at the Officer Training Academy in Chennai and will last for 49 weeks starting in April 2027. Upon completion of training, candidates will be commissioned as Lieutenants, with an annual CTC ranging between ₹17 to ₹18 lakhs, along with other benefits and allowances.
