New Delhi, March 30: Amid ongoing regional security concerns, India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Parmita Tripathi, met with Captain Abdulmohsen S. Al-Fagham, Chairman of Kuwait Airways, to discuss the resumption of flights and the safety of the Indian community.
During the meeting, held on Sunday, the focus was on restarting Kuwait Airways flights to facilitate travel for Indian citizens residing in Kuwait.
Ambassador Tripathi emphasized that the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Kuwait remain the embassy’s top priority.
In light of the ongoing conflicts in the Gulf region, the Indian government has issued special directives to assist foreign nationals. These measures include visa extensions, waivers on penalties, exit permits, and exemptions from compliance with certain regulations to ensure safe and seamless travel for affected individuals.
All visa categories, including e-visas nearing expiration, can be extended for one month without any fees, pending approval from the respective Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
Additionally, penalties for overstaying will be waived for foreign nationals who have remained in India beyond the stipulated time since February 28, 2026.
Exit permits will also be issued without charge, and failure to obtain these permits or visa extensions during these extraordinary circumstances will not be considered a violation of immigration rules.
Temporary Landing Permits (TLP) will also be granted to foreign nationals arriving in India due to flight rerouting, free of charge.
