Washington, April 1: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in an interview with Fox News that the United States is making swift progress toward its objectives in Iran. He emphasized that military operations are being conducted with “extraordinary efficiency.”
Rubio remarked, “We are moving rapidly toward our goals and are ahead of schedule in achieving all our objectives. The destination is in sight. Our military is accomplishing its aims with extraordinary efficiency, which I believe will be recorded in history as one of the most successful strategic military campaigns of modern times.”
He dismissed criticisms suggesting that the current situation could have been avoided through diplomacy, asserting that Iran has repeatedly failed to engage seriously in negotiations. “They have rejected dialogue. Those claiming it could have been avoided were given multiple opportunities in various talks, and they either declined or procrastinated. This will not happen under Donald Trump’s administration,” he stated.
Rubio deemed U.S. action necessary to counter the growing strategic threat from Tehran. He noted, “Iran was aiming to become the next North Korea, with the difference being that radical Shia clerics govern there and they possess intercontinental missiles capable of reaching the United States. If President Trump had not taken these steps, that would have been the outcome.”
The Secretary of State emphasized that Washington remains open to dialogue but will not allow negotiations to be used as a strategy for delay. “The President will not permit superficial talks to be used as a delaying tactic,” he asserted.
Rubio concluded, “We will always be ready for negotiations, but we will not let the failure of dialogue hinder our ability to defend the nation and protect it from real threats.”
His comments highlight a dual approach from the U.S., showing openness to negotiations while continuing necessary military operations for national security. They also reflect confidence in the momentum and effectiveness of the ongoing campaign.
