India Triumphs Over Hong Kong 2-1 in AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers

Kochi, March 31: India secured a thrilling 2-1 victory against Hong Kong, concluding their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 qualifiers in Group C on a high note. The match took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday.

Debutant Ryan Williams opened the scoring early in the match, and in the second half, left-back Akash Mishra extended the lead. These goals marked the Blue Tigers’ first win in the qualifying campaign, finishing with a total of 5 points. The team recorded 1 win, 2 draws, and faced 3 losses. Singapore topped the group with 14 points, successfully qualifying for the Asian Cup.

India started the game on a strong note, with Ryan Williams making his debut memorable by scoring in the fourth minute. During a swift move down the right flank, Abhishek Singh Techcham delivered an accurate pass to Manveer Singh. Manveer then set up Williams, who skillfully evaded the goalkeeper and found the back of the net, initiating the scoring.
