New Delhi, June 23: The ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 in Suhl, Germany, marked another outstanding day for India. Indian shooters secured three more medals, showcasing their talent on the global stage. Shiva Narwal delivered an impressive performance, winning the silver medal in the men’s junior 10-meter air pistol event. Meanwhile, Yug Pratap Singh Rathore clinched the bronze in the same event.
India also earned a silver medal in the men’s junior team event for the 10-meter air pistol, with the trio of Shiva Narwal, Sandeep Bishnoi, and Chirag Sharma putting forth a stellar effort to secure their podium finish.
With these three medals, India’s total medal tally now stands at 15 (5 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze). The Indian team has maintained its top position in the medal table at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026, reflecting its consistent excellence in both individual and team events.
Earlier on Monday, the Indian team further solidified its lead by adding four more medals to its tally. Pritam Kendre achieved a remarkable and composed performance, winning gold in the men’s junior 10-meter air rifle event, marking the country’s fifth gold medal in the championship.
India also secured a bronze medal in the women’s junior team event for the 25-meter pistol, thanks to the efforts of Anjali Mahendra Bhagwat, Parisha Gupta, and Nithila Ivy Darling Praveen Christopher. Another bronze came from the men’s junior team event in the same category, where Abhinav Chaudhary, Raj Chandra, and Jatin delivered an impressive team performance.
Samir from India won gold in the men’s junior 25-meter rapid-fire pistol event, achieving an excellent score of 28 hits in the final. In the men’s junior 50-meter rifle 3-position event, Rohit Kanyan also excelled, winning gold and further strengthening India’s campaign in the championship.
India’s Prachi Gaikwad added a silver medal to the tally, finishing as the runner-up in the women’s junior 50-meter rifle 3-position event with a score of 354.7.
