New Delhi, July 24: Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has voiced his support for justice and transparency during the ongoing protests by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, addressing the issue of paper leaks. He emphasized that the future of the nation deserves fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Kohli took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express his thoughts, stating, “Students deserve a fair system, transparent examinations, and a future based on merit. Their concerns must be taken seriously. I hope officials will take immediate and meaningful steps to address their grievances. Our country’s future is entitled to justice, transparency, and accountability.”
Former cricketer Irfan Pathan also shared his views, asserting that students’ hopes for a better future should never be shattered by any paper leak. On ‘X’, he wrote, “Every student works hard for years for a better future, and their families make various sacrifices during this time. Their hopes should never be broken due to any paper leak. I am confident that our country and the relevant authorities will ensure that every student gets an equal opportunity. I also hope that every possible measure will be taken to prevent this from happening again.”
Shikhar Dhawan, another former cricketer, commented on ‘X’, “Our youth are the future of the nation. It is essential to understand their dreams, but it is equally important to maintain patience during tough times and trust the institutions and government. I believe that patience is key to overcoming every challenge. India has always progressed and will continue to do so.”
The protests at Jantar Mantar are focused on the NEET paper leak, with the CJP demanding a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. Alongside Kohli, Pathan, and Dhawan, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has also shared his perspective on the matter.
Tendulkar wrote on ‘X’, “My father was a professor and a guide for many young students. He taught me early on that failure is acceptable, but cheating is not. Never take shortcuts. As a society, it is our responsibility to guide our culture in the right direction. A society that values results over hard work chooses shortcuts over merit. Today, when students feel disheartened that their hard work has not paid off, their disappointment is understandable. We must all work together to ensure they never feel this way again.”
