
Hyderabad, March 13: The Indian women’s hockey team has secured its place in the finals of the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier 2026. The team delivered an impressive performance in the semifinals, defeating Italy in a thrilling match with a score of 1-0. India will face England in the final.
The only goal of the match was scored by Manisha Chauhan in the 40th minute. The first quarter of the semifinal was fiercely contested, with both teams struggling for possession in midfield. India started the match with great energy, making several strong circle entries. However, Italy gradually adopted an aggressive approach and created some good scoring opportunities.
In the second quarter, India strengthened its grip on the match. The host team utilized the flanks to advance the ball.
