Patna, August 15: Bihar celebrated its 80th Independence Day with a vibrant atmosphere of patriotism and enthusiasm on Saturday. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary hoisted the national flag at the historic Gandhi Maidan during the main state ceremony. This marked his first Independence Day celebration as Chief Minister at this venue. Following the flag hoisting, he reviewed the parade.
Robust security measures were in place for the event. Various security forces and police contingents participated in the parade at Gandhi Maidan. Additionally, floats representing different themes and development schemes from 13 departments of the state government were showcased.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state and the nation. In his message released on the eve of Independence Day, he paid tribute to the brave souls of the freedom struggle. He emphasized that it was the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of these patriots that led to India’s independence on August 15, 1947.
While honoring the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the cause, the Chief Minister remarked that their noble ideals continue to inspire everyone. He urged the citizens of the state and the country to foster an environment of brotherhood, harmony, and tolerance. He called for a collective commitment to maintain unity and integrity to preserve the nation’s freedom. Furthermore, he encouraged everyone to work together to elevate the country to new heights of progress, prosperity, and development, thereby enhancing India’s reputation globally.
Before the main ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, the Chief Minister also hoisted the flag at the Lok Seva Awas. After the main event, he addressed the people of Bihar from Gandhi Maidan, outlining the government’s achievements, development plans, and priorities for the future of the state.
