India Announces 48-Member Team for Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship, Featuring Long Jumper Shahnawaz Khan

New Delhi, May 14: India has officially announced a 48-member national track and field team for the upcoming Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship, set to take place in Hong Kong starting May 28. Among the standout athletes is the talented long jumper Shahnawaz Khan, who has made a significant mark in domestic competitions.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) selected the team based on athletes’ performances in national events. Shahnawaz Khan recently achieved an impressive jump of 8.23 meters at the 24th National Junior Athletics Federation Cup, setting a new national record in the under-20 long jump category.

Other notable athletes included in the national team are Mohammad Ashfaq (400 meters and relay), Nitin Gupta (5000 meters race walk), and Pooja (high jump), all of whom are expected to make strong contributions at this continental competition.
