
Abidjan, July 10: India is set to strengthen its digital and agricultural collaboration with Ivory Coast. On Friday, Sevala Naik Mude, the Additional Secretary for Central and West Africa in the Ministry of External Affairs, met with Gibril Ouattara, the Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation of Ivory Coast.
The Indian Embassy in Ivory Coast announced on the social media platform ‘X’ that during the meetings of the consultative group linked to the National Development Plan of Côte d’Ivoire (2026-2030), Mude discussed India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including UPI and Aadhaar. They also explored the potential for enhancing cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Appreciating India’s digital advancements, the minister expressed a desire to learn from India’s successful digital systems. There is potential for adopting and implementing similar digital solutions in Ivory Coast.
On Thursday, Mude also met with Bruno Nabagné Koné. The two leaders discussed increasing collaboration in areas such as the use of machinery in agriculture, training for individuals, providing better seeds, and processing agricultural products.
The Indian Embassy reported that on July 9, Mude met with Bruno Nabagné Koné, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production. The main focus of their discussion was modernizing agriculture, capacity building, and enhancing cooperation in quality seeds and agro-processing.
Mude informed the minister that Indian companies are investing in Ivory Coast’s agro-processing sector, particularly in cashew, rubber, rice, and other agricultural industries. The minister welcomed this collaboration and showed interest in projects like supplying agricultural machinery and tractor assembly, inviting Indian companies to submit proposals.
Additionally, Mude met with Ibrahim Kalil Konaté, the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts. Both sides discussed strengthening trade and investment between India and Ivory Coast.
The Indian Embassy noted that during meetings related to financing Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (2026-2030) on July 9 in Abidjan, Mude met with Ibrahim Kalil Konaté to discuss boosting trade and investment between the two countries.
Mude also met with Yapi Kofi Ivoriste, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Ivory Coast. They discussed enhancing diplomatic cooperation to further strengthen the long-standing and robust relationship between India and Ivory Coast.
