Imran Masood Advocates Harmony on Bakrid, Backs Rahul Gandhi as NDA Challenger

New Delhi, May 28: Congress MP Imran Masood has shared his views on several issues, including Bakrid, law and order in Uttar Pradesh, and the leadership of the India alliance.

In an interview with a news agency, he emphasized that all festivals should be celebrated in a spirit of unity and harmony. Wishing the nation a happy Eid, he urged everyone to respect each other’s sentiments and partake in each other’s joys. Regarding the ongoing debates about sacrifice, he stated that the Muslim community always adheres to government guidelines during Bakrid.

On the rising incidents of murder and crime in Uttar Pradesh, Masood criticized the state government. He remarked that the law and order situation is not as good as the government claims. No matter how much the government promotes its achievements, the ground reality is evident to the public. He noted that the police’s authority has weakened, which is clearly affecting law enforcement.

Commenting on the Congress party’s assertion that Rahul Gandhi is the foremost leader of the India alliance, Masood stated that this sentiment is not just confined to the Congress but resonates across all sections of society. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi possesses the capability to challenge and displace the NDA led by the BJP. Masood highlighted that Gandhi is consistently engaging with the public, establishing a strong identity, and emerging as a prominent face of opposition politics.

Congress leader Hussain Dalwai also shared his thoughts on Bakrid and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. He stressed that every festival should be celebrated peacefully, noting that Eid always conveys a message of peace and brotherhood. He pointed out that the essence of Bakrid lies in the tradition of sacrifice and distributing meat to the less fortunate, symbolizing social participation and support.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi being recognized as the key figure of the India alliance, Dalwai mentioned that no special demand or promotion is necessary. Gandhi has built a strong and positive image through his nationwide tours and public outreach campaigns.

Dalwai emphasized that Gandhi’s direct connection with the public has naturally positioned him as a significant leader. He added that the party does not feel the need to assert this claim separately, as the public already views Rahul Gandhi as an influential leader.
