New Delhi, August 23: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will visit Musunuru in Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh, on Monday to launch hybrid popcorn maize seeds and honor local farmers.
A statement from the Vice President’s secretariat on Sunday noted, “During his visit, the Vice President will participate in an event at the ‘Gourmet Popcornika Factory’ in Musunuru. He will launch India’s first non-GMO high-expansion popcorn maize hybrid seeds, honor farmers, and address agricultural stakeholders and other participants.”
Last week, Radhakrishnan visited Uttarakhand, where he spoke to young IAS officers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. He emphasized that leadership should be measured not by power but by the ability to act rightly and ethically in challenging situations.
Highlighting character and integrity as the foundation of public service, the Vice President urged officials to make their service meaningful by transforming people’s lives.
Referring to the “Developed India 2047” initiative, Radhakrishnan instructed officials to ensure that development reaches the last mile, every complaint is heard, and every citizen is empowered.
He also encouraged officials to adopt new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, and blockchain, to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery to citizens.
According to a government statement, he stressed the importance of continuous learning, adaptability to circumstances, and preparedness for the future. He urged young officials to strive for the success of the entire team rather than focusing on individual or specific group achievements.
Radhakrishnan highlighted the significance of building collaborative teams, motivating peers, and advancing the good work initiated by previous officials.
Speaking at the completion of the second phase of training for the 2024 batch of IAS trainee officers, he noted that civil service has made a significant contribution to the country’s development and remains a crucial link between policy formulation and ground-level implementation.
