
New Delhi, March 17: According to the Hindu calendar, Darsha Amavasya falls on March 18. This day is referred to as Darsha Amavasya every month. The term ‘Darsha’ means ‘to see’ or ‘to witness,’ while Amavasya is the date when the moon is not visible at all. Hence, it is called Darsha Amavasya.
It is believed that on this day, performing Tarpan, Shraddha, and offering water to ancestors brings peace to their souls. When pleased, ancestors bless families with happiness, prosperity, health, and wealth. Charitable acts, bathing, and special prayers help alleviate ancestral curses and benefit future generations.
According to the Drik Panchang, sunrise will occur at 6:28 AM, and sunset will be at 6:31 PM. The Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi Tithi will last until 8:25 AM, after which Amavasya Tithi begins. The Nakshatra will be Purva Bhadrapada until 5:21 AM, followed by Uttara Bhadrapada. The auspicious yoga will last from 4:01 AM until March 19, and the Karan Shakuni will last until 8:25 AM.
Regarding the auspicious timings on March 18, Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:52 AM to 5:40 AM. Vijay Muhurat will be from 2:30 PM to 3:18 PM, and the Ghodhuli Muhurat will be from 6:29 PM to 6:53 PM. Additionally, Amrit Kaal will last from 9:37 PM to 11:10 PM, and Nishith Muhurat will be from 12:05 AM to 12:53 AM. However, there is no Abhijit Muhurat on this day.
In terms of inauspicious times, Rahu Kaal will be from 12:29 PM to 2:00 PM, Yamagand from 7:58 AM to 9:28 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 10:59 AM to 12:29 PM. Furthermore, Durmuhurat will be from 12:05 PM to 12:53 PM. The Panchak will be effective throughout the day on Wednesday.
