New Delhi, August 22: Iran’s defense ministry spokesperson, Brigadier General Raza Talai-Nik, has announced that the country’s defense production capabilities remain robust. Over the past year, the production of weapons and military equipment has reportedly doubled.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Brigadier General Talai-Nik emphasized that strengthening the nation’s military power is essential to counter foreign forces attempting to undermine Iran’s sovereignty.
In a late-night interview on Friday, Talai-Nik stated that Iran’s defense industry has become a crucial foundation for national security and military readiness. He highlighted the rapid production of domestically manufactured weapons and ammunition, noting that the ability to replenish supplies quickly is one of the industry’s greatest strengths.
He explained that Iran’s defense production capacity has consistently operated alongside the deployment of weapons and military equipment, enabling swift restoration of supplies when necessary.
IRNA reports that despite limited attacks on certain segments of Iran’s defense industry during a 12-day conflict, the production of defense weapons and equipment has doubled over the past year.
Talai-Nik noted that the ability to maintain a steady supply of weapons and military equipment has been a significant factor in Iran’s resilience during the conflict. This capability has been bolstered through collaboration among armed forces, the defense ministry, knowledge-based companies, private sector firms, and scientific research institutions.
According to IRNA, the spokesperson revealed that there has been a more than threefold increase in the production of certain strategic defense products and essential materials used in warfare during the recent conflict.
He pointed out that before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran’s defense industry produced only 31 basic products. Today, the country manufactures over a thousand advanced defense systems, weapons, and ammunition. He claimed that the production cost of some Iranian defense systems is up to 20 times lower than that of similar foreign products.
The spokesperson further stated that during the recent conflict, the military budgets of the United States, Israel, and their allies were more than 100 times that of Iran. Nevertheless, Iran successfully faced the challenges of the conflict, attributing this success to the country’s domestic production capacity and national resilience.
