IIT Delhi and ACSIR Forge New Research Collaboration

New Delhi, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : IIT Delhi and the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (ACSIR) have entered into a collaborative agreement aimed at enhancing education and research. This partnership will enable students, researchers, and educators from both prestigious Indian institutions to benefit from each other’s expertise and research facilities.

ACSIR, recognized as a national institution, will facilitate joint research initiatives, co-guidance for research students, and promote exchanges among students and faculty. A framework for collaboration has been established between IIT Delhi and ACSIR-affiliated research institutions.

A key feature of this collaboration is the co-guidance of PhD, MTech, and MS research students. Under this arrangement, each student will have at least one supervisor from IIT Delhi and another from ACSIR. This setup allows students to work with the available expertise and research facilities at both institutions. Additionally, postgraduate students, researchers, and faculty will have the opportunity to engage in academic and research activities at partner institutions without needing separate admission or tuition fees.

Students from IIT Delhi and ACSIR will have the chance to undertake coursework and research at the partner institution. The collaboration extends beyond mere student exchanges; faculty members from both IIT Delhi and ACSIR can also collaborate on research in areas of mutual interest, including those related to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Professor Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, emphasized that this partnership goes beyond traditional exchanges. It aims to create a continuous dialogue platform for researchers. He noted that by combining the capabilities and facilities of IIT Delhi and ACSIR laboratories, students and faculty will have opportunities to explore new research ideas.

Professor Manoj K. Dhar, Director of ACSIR, highlighted that this agreement will broaden access to research facilities and expertise for a larger number of students and researchers. He stated that students will have the chance to work on research topics with strong connections to industry. Senior officials from both institutions, including directors, deans, associate deans, and department heads, were present during the signing of the agreement.

On this occasion, both institutions also presented their academic and research activities. This agreement aims to enhance the research capabilities of both institutions while providing students the opportunity to work in different laboratories, alongside experts in diverse research environments, thus expanding the potential for collaborative research beyond institutional boundaries.
