Chandigarh, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Chandigarh is offering a significant opportunity for medical professionals. An official notification has been released for the recruitment of 74 senior resident positions across various departments.
The available positions include three in Anatomy, four in Biochemistry, five in Cardiology, one in Community Medicine, six in CTVS, one in Endocrinology, four in Emergency Medicine, one in Forensic Medicine, three in General Medicine, 18 in General Surgery, one in Gastroenterology, one in Hospital Administration, two in Neurology, three in Neuro Surgery, two in Nuclear Medicine, four in Obstetrics and Gynecology, one in Pharmacology, one in Plastic Surgery, one in Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, three in Radio Diagnosis, four in TB and Respiratory Diseases, three in Urology, and two positions for CMO/General Medicine (Casualty Medical Officers).
Candidates will be selected based on a walk-in interview and document verification. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹67,700, along with additional benefits and allowances.
Applicants must hold a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB/MCH/DM) in the relevant specialty from a recognized institution, and they should be registered with the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council. The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 45 years, calculated as of the interview date, October 5, 2026. Relaxation in the age limit will be provided for candidates from reserved categories.
During the interview process, candidates will need to pay a registration fee of ₹500 for general category applicants and ₹250 for SC candidates.
The walk-in interview will take place on October 5 at 2 PM in the office of the Director Principal (Room No. 210), Level-2 Block-D, GMCH, Chandigarh. Candidates are advised to report to the center by 11 AM on the same day. They should arrive on time and bring a hard copy of the completed application form along with original and photocopies of all relevant documents, as registration will occur on-site before the interview.
