Mumbai, April 14: Huawei is gearing up to unveil its latest foldable device, the Pura X Max and Collector’s Edition, on April 20. Recent leaks suggest that this new model will come with a significantly higher price tag compared to its predecessor.
A Chinese tipster indicates that the Huawei Pura X Max is expected to start at over 10,000 yuan (approximately $1,465). This marks a notable increase from last year’s Pura X, which was launched at 7,499 yuan (around $1,097).
Another reliable source corroborates this information, hinting at a similar price range for the upcoming device.
Expected Specifications of Huawei Pura X Max
For its price, the Pura X Max is anticipated to feature a battery capacity exceeding 6,000mAh. It will likely debut with HarmonyOS 6.1, making it one of the first devices to utilize Huawei’s latest operating system.
In terms of performance, the standard model is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9030 chip, while a premium Collector’s Edition may include the Kirin 9030 Pro. Huawei has yet to confirm details about either chipset.
The hardware enhancements extend beyond the internal components. The Pura X Max is also expected to boast a larger 7.6-inch internal display, continuing the wide-folding format introduced with the previous Pura X.
Additionally, the device may feature a periscope telephoto lens equipped with Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system, along with an updated version of its Maple Leaf primary color technology.
Huawei plans to offer the Pura X Max in various color options, including Midnight Black, Zero White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.
The company appears to be on a positive trajectory leading up to this release, as the earlier Pura X reportedly achieved over 1.5 million units in shipments, a commendable figure for a foldable device.
