HPPSC Recruitment 2026: Massive Opening for 369 Assistant Professor Positions, Apply by July 14

Shimla, June 22: A golden opportunity has emerged for those in the educational sector waiting for government job vacancies. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has officially announced the recruitment of eligible candidates for a total of 369 Assistant Professor positions across various subjects in the Higher Education Department.

The 369 vacancies include 39 for English, 34 for Chemistry, 34 for Hindi, 25 for Physics, 25 for Mathematics, 23 for Physical Education, 20 for Botany, 20 for Zoology, 20 for Geography, 19 for History, 17 for Sociology, 16 for Political Science, 15 for Commerce, 14 for Public Administration, 13 for Psychology, 10 for Economics, 6 for Geology, 6 for Sanskrit, 5 for Philosophy, 4 for Music Instruments, 2 for Dance, and 2 for Tabla.

The online application process for these positions commenced on June 17, with the final date for submission set for July 14. Interested and eligible candidates wishing to apply can register on the official HPPSC portal before or by the deadline.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent recognized foreign degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria of having cleared the NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent SLATE/SET.

The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 45 years, calculated as of January 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per the rules.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on application scrutiny, an objective type screening test, a subject-specific qualification test (SAT), document verification, personality test, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹35,000.
