Hong Kong Hosts Family and Womens Development Summit

Beijing, April 3: The Hong Kong Family and Women’s Development Summit took place on March 31, 2026, in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. The event featured a speech by State Councilor and President of the All-China Women’s Federation, Shan Yiqin.

In her address, she emphasized President Xi Jinping’s focus on Hong Kong’s development and the high expectations he has for the local government’s efforts. The Hong Kong government has made significant progress in implementing Xi’s key directives and the central government’s policies. Women in Hong Kong play a crucial role in maintaining the region’s prosperity and stability.

Shan Yiqin stated that the current summit not only actively responds to the spirit of global women’s summits but also serves as a practical initiative to enhance women’s work and family building in Hong Kong. She expressed hope that the Hong Kong government will strengthen the welfare of women and families, while also increasing exchanges between China and the outside world. This will contribute to a new journey of modernization in the Chinese style. The All-China Women’s Federation will continue to support the development of women’s work and family building in Hong Kong.
