The advanced digital solution detects real-time electrical fluctuations and sends instant alerts via WhatsApp and email. Operating across both on-premises and cloud platforms, the system is designed to enhance equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.

Boosting Efficiency With AI

Developed in collaboration with Gurgaon-based startup Repic.AI, the application was refined using trial feedback. It predicts issues in advance, converting unplanned shutdowns into planned maintenance, resulting in up to 20% reduction in overall production losses.

The system is fully integrated with the plant’s cloud and electrical SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) rooms, enabling teams to respond immediately to potential problems. Hindustan Zinc plans to expand such AI-driven monitoring and automation solutions across all its units to maximize asset utilization.

CEO’s Statement

Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said:
“The switchyard and rectifier hotspot monitoring application marks another step towards operational excellence. We believe digital innovation is the key to shaping the future of metals and mining. By implementing AI-based predictive systems, we are not only improving production efficiency but also building a scalable, technology-driven foundation across all our units.”
