Jaipur, 1 September (Kiran News). The Rajasthan High Court has sought a report from the state government regarding action taken against officials accused of manipulating registry fees during land transactions in Jhunjhunu district. The court has instructed the government to present the outcome of departmental actions against these officials. Additionally, the court has inquired whether a case has also been registered with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in this matter.

A division bench comprising Justice S.P. Sharma and Justice Sanjeet Purohit issued these orders while hearing a public interest litigation filed by Public Against Corruption.

Advocates P.C. Bhandari and T.N. Sharma, representing the petitioner, informed the court that between 2018 and 2020, several land registrations took place in Jhunjhunu district. Many commercial lands were allegedly misrepresented as residential plots through collusion, causing a loss of crores of rupees in government revenue. The petitioners claimed that they had submitted complaints at the appropriate level. Departmental investigations confirmed the revenue loss and found the involved officials guilty, yet no action was taken against them for a long time, not even their transfer.

In response, Additional Advocate General Vigyan Shah, appearing for the state government, informed the court that charge sheets had been issued against the concerned officials. Upon hearing this, the court directed that the outcome of these charge sheets be presented in court and further asked whether a case had also been filed with the ACB regarding the matter.
