Hema Malini Visits Udaipur, Praises Takham-28 Art Centre: “Every City Should Have Such Institutions”

Udaipur, August 2 (H.S.) – Renowned actress and Member of Parliament Hema Malini visited Udaipur on Saturday, where she toured the Takham-28 Art Centre and Gallery. She expressed admiration for the initiative and emphasised the need for similar institutions in every city to promote art and support artists.

Hema Malini arrived at the Takham premises at 11:30 AM and was warmly welcomed by Chairman Prof. Suresh Sharma, who presented her with a bouquet. Secretary Sandeep Paliwal briefed her on the various artistic activities conducted by the centre and gave her a detailed tour of the gallery.

Speaking on the occasion, Hema Malini commended the work being done at Takham-28 and said such organisations provide a vital platform for artists and help nurture creativity. She also expressed her desire to establish a similar gallery in her parliamentary constituency, Mathura.

During the visit, Hema Malini explored different sections of the Takham-28 Art Studio, including ceramics, graphics, sculpture, and the artist residency. She praised the centre’s working methods and its emphasis on experimentation.

She also inaugurated the solo painting exhibition of artist Lalit Sharma. Taking a close look at the artworks based on Udaipur’s architectural heritage and miniature style, presented with a modern perspective, she described the pieces as a beautiful blend of tradition and innovation.

In an informal interaction with artists, Hema Malini showed keen interest in various artistic techniques, colour compositions, and contemporary approaches. The event was attended by several senior and emerging artists, Takham-28 members, and art enthusiasts from the city.

Concluding her nearly two-hour artistic journey, Hema Malini assured her support to Takham-28 in the future and expressed her desire to return again.
