Mumbai, June 30: Sudesh Bhosale, a renowned playback singer, mimicry artist, and dubbing artist, has carved a unique niche in the Hindi film industry. Born on July 1, 1960, in Mumbai, he is celebrated for his remarkable ability to imitate the voices of famous actors, including the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Bhosale gained fame primarily for his songs sung in Bachchan’s voice.
His parents, Sumantai Bhosale and N.R. Bhosale, played a significant role in his musical journey. Sumantai, a well-known singer herself, is credited with introducing Sudesh to music at an early age. During his college years, Bhosale developed a passion for singing and mimicry. His big break came in 1988 with the film “Jaljala,” which opened doors for him in playback singing.
Sudesh’s talent for mimicking Amitabh Bachchan’s voice has led him to sing several songs for the actor in various films. Some of his popular tracks include “Jumma Chumma De De,” “Shava Shava,” “Meri Makhna,” “Bade Miyan To Bade Miyan,” and “Sona Sona.”
In addition to singing, Bhosale has also made a name for himself as a dubbing artist. After the untimely death of actor Sanjeev Kumar, he lent his voice to the unfinished film “Professor Ki Padosan.” His versatility is evident as he has dubbed for numerous artists throughout his career.
Sudesh Bhosale has remained active on television, appearing as a judge, host, and performer on various music and entertainment shows. His comedic style, mimicry, and stage presence have endeared him to TV audiences as well.
For his significant contributions to Indian music, Bhosale received the Mother Teresa Millennium Award in 2008.
