Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued Across Several Indian States, IMD Warns

The Indian Meteorological Department has released a national alert predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms in several areas. In recent days there has been a mixture of scorching sun and sudden cloud movement in various parts of India. While southern states have experienced some late-night rainfall, providing relief from soaring temperatures, residents in northern and northeastern regions are now bracing for significant weather changes.

States Expected to Experience Rain, Thunderstorms, and Dust Storms

According to the IMD, pre-monsoon activity is intensifying, leading to an increased likelihood of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and dust storms in multiple states. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and other states are expected to experience rain between April 26th and 27th. Strong winds and rain will continue to be experienced in the Himalayan regions, which includes Jammu and Kashmir Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, Odisha may continue to experience heavy rainfall coupled with thunderstorms over the coming days.

Detailed Forecast for Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, IMD predicts that Bundelkhand districts such as Mahoba, Jhansi, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Agra will face heavy rains with thunderstorms. Light to moderate showers are likely in Hathras, Aligarh, Prayagraj, and Varanasi as cloud activity increases.

Madhya Pradesh will also see significant weather developments, with rain expected in districts including Gwalior, Jabalpur, Tikamgarh, Sidhi, and Datia. Additionally, parts of Chhattisgarh, such as Durg, Raipur, Balod, Bazar, and Rajnandgaon, are likely to witness pre-monsoon showers.

Residents in the affected regions are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins and exercise caution during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.
