New Delhi, March 30: Edge rusher Myles Garrett had requested a trade a year ago before signing a four-year, $160 million contract with the Browns last March. Following a disappointing 5-12 season in 2025, the Defensive Player of the Year voiced his frustration with the team’s ongoing struggles.
This offseason, the Browns and Garrett reached an agreement on modified language in his contract, making it somewhat easier for the team to consider a trade.
“Myles is a career Brown,” said Andrew Berry, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “He is one of the faces of our organization. We have been very clear about our feelings, both past and present. I understand the questions, but honestly, I don’t want to spend much more time discussing it.”
Garrett, now 30, set an NFL record last season with 23 sacks in a single season.
