Hyderabad, August 12 (Kiran News). In view of the heavy rain warning across Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with district collectors on Tuesday evening via video conference from the Hyderabad Command Control Centre. He directed all in-charge ministers and officials to remain alert and ordered the cancellation of all departmental staff leave for the next three days.

The CM instructed that helicopters be kept ready to evacuate people to safety in case of sudden flooding and emphasised constant coordination with NDRF personnel. He said staff should be deployed in advance to districts facing heavy rainfall and that senior officers should be posted in areas under red alert. He also ordered regular weather and flood updates through the media, along with a toll-free helpline for public complaints.
Precautionary Measures in Hyderabad
The CM directed that NDRF and municipal emergency services be kept on alert in the capital, and that decisions on closing educational institutions should be taken promptly as per the situation. IT employees have been advised to work from home if necessary. He also asked police to take measures to restrict public movement during severe weather to prevent loss of life. District collectors have been authorised to use available funds immediately for relief without delay.
Schools and Colleges Closed for Two Days
Given the forecast, the School Education Department has ordered all educational institutions in affected districts to remain closed for the next two days starting tomorrow. In Greater Hyderabad, schools will be closed on Wednesday, with further decisions to be taken after periodic reviews of the situation.
