Heartwarming Diwali Celebration for Jharkhand Mother and Son at Presidents Invitation

A touching Diwali experience for Kalawati and her son Dilip, invited by President Murmu, highlights a nine-year bond of support and care.

Ranchi, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Kalawati Munda and her son Dilip from Jharkhand experienced an unforgettable Diwali this year, thanks to a special invitation from President Droupadi Murmu. Their bond, which began nine years ago, reflects how relationships can thrive through small gestures of kindness.

This year, just before Diwali, Kalawati and Dilip were invited to the President’s residence in Delhi. The visit was a remarkable experience for the mother-son duo, who were warmly welcomed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. They toured the premises and had the opportunity to meet President Murmu, who inquired about their well-being.

As part of the celebration, the President’s office presented them with gifts of clothing and financial assistance. Following their meeting, they were taken on a tour of key sites around Delhi in a government vehicle. The connection between Kalawati, Dilip, and the President dates back to 2017, when Murmu served as the Governor of Jharkhand. At that time, Kalawati faced severe challenges, including being deaf and mute. A tragic incident had compounded her struggles, making it difficult for her to raise her son.

When President Murmu learned of their hardships, she invited them to the Raj Bhavan. She took on the responsibility of supporting Dilip’s upbringing and education, offering hope and stability to Kalawati during a trying time. Even after becoming President, Murmu has maintained her connection with the pair, and this recent invitation is a testament to that enduring relationship.

For Kalawati and Dilip, reaching the highest constitutional office from their small village felt like a dream come true. Beyond the gifts they received, the warmth and recognition from the President represented the most meaningful aspect of their Diwali celebration, reminding them they are not forgotten after all these years.
