TMC Leader Criticizes Bageshwar Babas Political Influence in West Bengal

TMCs Madan Mitra questions Bageshwar Babas influence in West Bengal and criticizes BJPs political stance.

Kolkata, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Kolkata’s political landscape is heating up as Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Madan Mitra has voiced strong criticism against Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, known as Bageshwar Baba. Mitra responded to Shastri’s comments about Lord Krishna, asserting that there is no need to give undue importance to Bageshwar Baba in Bengal.

Mitra questioned the current standing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, claiming their government will last only five to six months. He accused the BJP of lacking a clear policy and direction. Referring to Shastri’s remarks, Mitra pointed out that while the BJP has constructed a Ram temple, they have not built a Krishna temple, suggesting that Bageshwar Baba might not know that Lord Ram is a devotee of Lord Krishna. He emphasized that both deities together form Ramakrishna.

Despite his criticisms, Mitra clarified that he holds no personal grievances against Bageshwar Baba, stating that engaging in disputes with him would be a waste of time. He raised questions about who Bageshwar Baba is and why he is being afforded such prominence.

Mitra also highlighted former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s dedication to worship, noting her frequent visits to temples. He accused Bageshwar Baba of making nonsensical statements while attempting to gain political traction. According to him, such political theatrics will not succeed in Bengal, where only the truth will prevail.

Commenting further on the BJP’s situation in West Bengal, Mitra described the party’s condition as dire. He claimed that beyond Suvendu Adhikari, no other BJP leaders seem to be actively working. He criticized the party for its contradictory policies, questioning whether the BJP has different strategies for the country and Bengal.

Mitra referenced the formation of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh at airports and metro stations, challenging the BJP’s organizational decisions. He concluded by asserting that the BJP is fracturing and losing public support, stating that Suvendu Adhikari is trying to navigate North Bengal alone, while corrupt and anti-social elements have infiltrated the party. He reiterated his belief that the BJP’s government in Bengal will not last long, predicting a significant shift in just a few months.
