Legal Action Sought Against Neha Bora for Controversial Remarks on Temple Priests
A lawyer has filed a complaint against Neha Bora for allegedly making offensive remarks about temple priests and sexual crimes.

New Delhi, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : A lawyer has formally requested the Delhi Police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Neha Bora, the national president of the All India Students Association (AISA). The complaint alleges that she made inappropriate remarks linking temple priests to sexual crimes against women.
In her complaint filed at the Cyber Police Station in New Delhi, Advocate-on-Record Amita Sachdeva invoked provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023, specifically Section 196, arguing that Bora’s statements could incite animosity among different groups and disrupt public peace.
Sachdeva noted that a video of Bora has gone viral on social media, with numerous news outlets also covering it. In the video, she accuses temple priests of committing sexual offenses against women.
Bora can be heard saying, “Brahmin women are not safe even while walking on the streets. They face rape. Priests in temples also commit rape. We have seen such incidents in Unnao and Kathua.”
The video also features a text stating, “Priests rape women inside temples.”
The complainant contends that these statements unfairly implicate an entire community in sexual offenses and associate these acts with a specific social structure. The complaint emphasizes, “Sexual crimes are criminal acts. Wherever such incidents occur, they should be thoroughly investigated under the law, and the guilty should be prosecuted. However, publicly accusing an entire community of such crimes and spreading this widely can create unrest, animosity, hatred, or enmity among different citizen groups.”
Furthermore, the complaint argues that these statements threaten public peace and order and have elicited reactions from the public due to their widespread electronic dissemination. Sachdeva clarified that this case pertains entirely to public peace and law and order, rather than being presented as a complaint from any specific community.
The lawyer has urged the police to file an FIR against Neha Bora and any others identified during the investigation. She has also called for a thorough inquiry into the statements, their intent, electronic records, their dissemination, and the alleged impact on public order.
