Panchkula, June 12: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini shared insights on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic 12-year tenure during a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party office, ‘Panchkaml,’ in Panchkula on Friday.
CM Saini emphasized that through initiatives focused on poverty alleviation, digital transformation, women’s empowerment, youth opportunities, and robust infrastructure, India has made a remarkable journey from potential to achievement. Haryana has been a strong participant in this developmental journey, benefiting farmers, attracting industrial investment, implementing social security schemes, and expanding connectivity.
He noted the significant strides made in women’s empowerment over the past 12 years under PM Modi’s leadership. The passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, which allocates 33% of seats in Parliament and state legislatures to women, was a historic milestone. The Congress party had delayed this issue for years, fearing it would undermine their family-centric politics. Under Modi’s guidance, these possibilities have been transformed into tangible achievements.
Saini also highlighted the cultural renaissance witnessed in the country during these years, pointing to the development of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Lok, the reconstruction of Kedarnath, and the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
He remarked that every Prime Minister has acted according to their will, strength, and capabilities, but Modi’s 12-year tenure has been particularly historic. It represents a transforming India, a rapidly advancing nation, and one that is carving a new identity on the global stage.
Saini mentioned PM Modi’s special connection with Haryana, noting that significant projects are often announced during his visits. The last twelve years have been established as a golden chapter in the journey of women’s empowerment in India’s development narrative. Modi’s visionary policies have redefined women’s empowerment, with initiatives like the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the Swachh Bharat Mission ensuring substantial and structural improvements in women’s living standards.
