Gwalior, June 6: The Gwalior police have successfully solved a theft case that occurred nearly two and a half years ago at the home of a retired army subedar. The stolen revolver and other items have been recovered, leading to the arrest of three suspects.
The burglary took place in October 2023 at the residence of Brijesh Kumar Singh in Adityapuram Vaishnavidham Phase Two, located in the Maharajpura police station area. At the time, Singh and his wife were away from home. Upon their return, they found the front door broken. Thieves had stolen gold and silver jewelry, ₹50,000 in cash, an LED TV, and Singh’s licensed revolver.
Gwalior’s Superintendent of Police, Nagendra Singh Sikharwar, announced the breakthrough in this two-and-a-half-year-old case. During interrogation, one of the arrested suspects, Rajkumar Jatav, revealed details about the burglary. Following this, the Maharajpura police took him into custody for further questioning, during which he admitted to committing the crime alongside his accomplice, Pradeep Rathore.
Subsequently, Rathore was also detained for questioning. Based on his information, police recovered the stolen jewelry and LED TV. Sikharwar stated that Rathore disclosed he had sold the stolen revolver to Devendra Yadav.
Police arrested Yadav as well and recovered the licensed revolver from him. The suspects have a prior criminal record, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities expect to gather significant information regarding other theft incidents in the city from them.
