Gurugram, May 22: The Haryana Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended a notorious drug trafficker named Rohit from the Bhiwani district. A significant quantity of heroin, valued at approximately ₹35 crore, was seized from the accused.
According to reports, the STF received a tip-off indicating that Rohit was running a large-scale heroin trafficking operation from his residence in Bhiwani. Acting on this information, the STF team swiftly conducted a raid at the suspect’s home. During the operation, Rohit was arrested on the spot.
The search yielded a substantial amount of heroin, with preliminary investigations estimating its value to exceed ₹35 crore. This operation is considered a major success for the Haryana STF in their ongoing battle against drug trafficking.
Initial questioning revealed that Rohit was actively involved in sourcing heroin from Punjab and distributing it across various regions in Haryana. Police investigations also uncovered that Rohit’s brother was fully complicit in this illicit drug trade. The brother is currently on the run and has been declared a fugitive by the police.
Reports indicate that Rohit’s brother has multiple drug trafficking cases registered against him in Punjab. The STF team is now focused on conducting in-depth interrogations with the arrested Rohit to uncover other members of the gang and their network.
STF officials believe that more individuals may be involved in this operation, trafficking heroin from Punjab to sell in Haryana. A senior STF officer stated that Rohit will be presented in court, where a remand will be sought for further questioning. The aim is to expose the entire drug racket during this remand period. This action reinforces the state government’s and Haryana Police’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
