Gunfire Incident Involving Actor Tiger Shroff Raises Security Concerns in Mumbai

A shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff has sparked a political debate over security in Mumbai, raising concerns about gang violence.

Mumbai, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : A shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has intensified discussions about security in Mumbai. On Sunday, as Shroff returned from a football match, assailants opened fire near him. Fortunately, Shroff was unharmed, but his driver sustained injuries. Authorities suspect the involvement of the Bishnoi gang, known for similar violent acts in the past. In response, the Maharashtra government has vowed to take strict action against those responsible, with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ordering a thorough investigation.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale confirmed the incident, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring safety. He stated, “No accused will be spared.” Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Anand Dubey reassured the public, asserting that Mumbai remains safe and that the government is dedicated to protecting its citizens. Shinde has personally met with Shroff to discuss the situation.

Minister Sanjay Shirsat echoed these sentiments, stating that the government is treating the incident with utmost seriousness. He highlighted the need to address the resurgence of gang wars targeting the film industry, ensuring that such violence does not undermine public safety.

Legal expert Majid Memon expressed his concern over the shooting occurring in broad daylight in a posh area like Juhu. He called for the state government to take the matter seriously, referencing a recent murder that has heightened fears of a renewed wave of gang violence in the city. Memon noted that while Mumbai had seen a decline in such incidents over the past two decades, the recent uptick is alarming.

He pointed out that the resurgence of gang violence appears to be coordinated from outside the state, and he urged law enforcement to take decisive action. Memon stressed that if the same names keep appearing in connection with these crimes, it reflects a serious failure in the system.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant described the incident as a grave indication of deteriorating law and order in Mumbai, expressing concerns over public safety. He highlighted the growing fear among citizens about venturing outside.

The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the safety of public figures and the need for enhanced security measures in the city.
