Gandhinagar, May 17: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officially launched the online self-enumeration process for the Census 2027 on Sunday. He filled out his family’s information online, encouraging citizens to actively participate in this pioneering digital census initiative.
The self-enumeration process began on May 17 and will continue until May 31. During this period, residents of Gujarat can submit their information online through the census web portal and mobile platform.
After entering his details on the official census portal, the Chief Minister urged the public to engage in this national campaign and provide accurate information within the specified timeframe.
He emphasized the importance of citizen participation in this significant national endeavor, contributing to the creation of a strong, inclusive, and developed India.
According to the state government, the Census 2027 will be conducted entirely digitally for the first time. Citizens will have the option to provide their information via both the online portal and mobile applications.
Officials noted that the new self-enumeration system is designed to be an easy, secure, and convenient digital platform, allowing individuals to upload their information from anywhere.
Citizens can complete this process through the official portal, which also provides guidelines and instructions related to self-enumeration.
The administration has urged people to complete this process within the designated 15-day period and submit accurate information on time.
This is the first time the self-enumeration system is being implemented in the Census 2027. Residents of Gujarat will be able to provide their information online before the next phase of the census begins.
Following this, a house listing operation will take place across the state from June 1 to June 30. More than 100,000 census staff will carry out this work as part of the national census campaign.
During the event, the state census director, Sujal Mayatra, presented a memento to the Chief Minister and provided updates on the preparations and activities related to the census in the state.
