
New Delhi, August 28: President Droupadi Murmu has conveyed heartfelt wishes to all Indians residing both domestically and abroad on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
In her message, she stated, “I extend my warm greetings to all Indians celebrating Raksha Bandhan, whether in India or abroad. The sacred tradition of Raksha Bandhan has been an integral part of our worship and culture since ancient times. The thread tied with reverence on the wrist is considered a holy bond of protection, symbolizing Raksha Bandhan. In various verses and mantras, we request, ‘Rakshe, ma chala, ma chala,’ which means ‘O bond of protection, may you remain steadfast forever.’”
The President further noted, “Over time, Raksha Bandhan has evolved into a heartfelt social festival where a sister ties a rakhi on her brother’s wrist for protection. This festival strengthens the bonds of affection, respect, and responsibility among siblings, friends, and various members of society. It reminds us that every relationship is built on trust, sensitivity, and mutual cooperation. On this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, let us pledge to protect our society and nation. Let us also move forward with the spirit of building a developed India.”
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan shared his wishes on X, stating, “Warm greetings on the joyous occasion of Raksha Bandhan. May this happy occasion strengthen the bonds of love, affection, and connection, inspiring us to uphold the values of kindness, goodwill, and mutual respect. I wish happiness, peace, and prosperity for all.”
BJP National President Nitin Naveen also posted on X, saying, “Heartfelt wishes to all citizens on the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan. This festival of love, trust, and commitment between brothers and sisters further strengthens our cultural values and familial bonds. I hope this sacred occasion brings love, joy, and prosperity into everyone’s life.”
Union Minister Chirag Paswan posted, “Warm wishes to all citizens on the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, symbolizing the unbreakable love, trust, and affection between brothers and sisters. May this holy bond always maintain love, joy, and mutual trust in life.”
