Gujarat Delegation Departures for Washington D.C. Under CM Bhupendra Patels Leadership

Gandhinagar, August 19: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led a Gujarat delegation that completed its visit to San Francisco and departed for Washington D.C. on August 19, Wednesday.

Before heading to Washington D.C., CM Patel and delegation members visited the Consulate General of India in San Francisco. During this visit, Consul General Dr. K. Shrikar Reddy warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and his team.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, CM Bhupendra Patel expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality received from the consulate team and acknowledged their dedicated efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries and support the Indian community.

Earlier, the Gujarat delegation, under CM Patel’s leadership, visited Micron and Google on the third day of their trip related to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2027. During this visit, CM Patel held a one-on-one meeting with Arvind Srinivasan, CEO of Perplexity AI, and also met with members of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) in Silicon Valley.

Sanjay Mehrotra, Chairman of Micron, expressed appreciation for the swift approval of 20 acres of land for Micron’s Sanand facility, facilitated by CM Patel. He praised the proactive approach of the state government to ensure the successful commercial production of the Micron unit begins soon.

During the visit, Chandu Thota, Vice President of Google, expressed eagerness to collaborate with Gujarat on AI training for youth, teachers, and students, as well as the application of AI in agricultural crop patterns, climate, and soil. He also discussed the use of Google Workspace Sovereign AI for data security with CM Patel and senior officials from the Gujarat delegation.

In the one-on-one meeting with Arvind Srinivasan, discussions revolved around establishing a presence for Perplexity in engineering and research and development in Gujarat. Srinivasan showed interest in setting up a data center or a hybrid setup between developers and Perplexity in Gujarat. Additionally, CM Patel held a meeting with members of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
