Gujarat CM Praises PM Modis Visit to Netherlands for Water Management Insights

New Delhi, May 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy from May 15 to May 20. During his time in the Netherlands, PM Modi engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Rob Jetten regarding several agreements. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel shared multiple photographs of PM Modi with his Dutch counterpart on social media.

In a post on the platform X, Bhupendra Patel highlighted that PM Modi’s visit to the iconic Afsluitdijk Dam with Prime Minister Rob Jetten marks a significant step towards deepening India-Netherlands cooperation in water management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable infrastructure.

He noted that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between India’s Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Netherlands’ Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management for technical cooperation on Gujarat’s visionary Kalpasar project is a historic event. This collaboration will unlock new opportunities for advanced water engineering, freshwater conservation, flood management, and integrated infrastructure development in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Afsluitdijk serves as a global benchmark in water engineering, transforming challenges into opportunities through innovation and visionary thinking. Similarly, Gujarat’s ambitious Kalpasar project envisions creating a vast freshwater reservoir across the Gulf of Khambhat, offering extensive benefits in irrigation, water security, tidal energy, connectivity, and regional development.

He expressed gratitude towards PM Modi for continuously bringing global expertise, forward-looking technologies, and transformative partnerships to accelerate India’s development trajectory. Under his visionary leadership, India is embracing world-class innovations to create a climate-resilient and water-secure future for generations to come.
