
Rajkot, March 28: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated and laid the foundation for approximately 45 development projects worth ₹751.20 crore in Rajkot on Saturday. This includes the construction of 1,010 new homes under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.
The EWS-II type housing units, built at a cost of ₹119.05 crore, offer modern amenities to families. Additionally, a new Regional Transport Office and a vehicle test track were inaugurated, with a total expenditure of ₹9.78 crore.
During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the themes of ‘Ease of Living’ and ‘Earn Well, Live Well,’ stating that the development works worth ₹751.20 crore reflect Rajkot’s progress. He praised Gujarat’s development model and financial management as the best in the country.
Patel stressed that no development work essential for citizens’ welfare would be left pending, and all planned projects should receive timely government approval. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining quality in ongoing projects.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India by 2047, CM Bhupendra Patel noted the necessity of bringing ordinary citizens into the mainstream to achieve this goal. To facilitate this, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has been expanded to regional levels within the state.
He recalled his journey as a public representative, which began in Rajkot, mentioning that he has served for 8,931 days in office. Patel asserted that the Prime Minister’s focus on public welfare has significantly transformed the lives of the poor, citing the reduction of excise duty on petrol from ₹13 to ₹3 and the complete removal of excise duty on diesel.
