Gold Prices Shine Bright, Silver Sees Minor Decline

New Delhi, June 4: The prices of gold and silver experienced mixed trading on Thursday. Gold is now priced at approximately ₹1.56 lakh per 10 grams, while silver remains steady around ₹2.61 lakh per kilogram.

According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has increased by ₹1,050, reaching ₹1,56,086 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,55,036.

The price of 22-carat gold has risen from ₹1,42,013 to ₹1,42,975 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the price of 18-carat gold has also seen an increase, now standing at ₹1,17,065 per 10 grams, compared to the previous ₹1,16,277.

In contrast, silver prices have witnessed a slight decline, though it remains limited. Silver is now priced at ₹2,61,088 per kilogram, down from ₹2,61,575.

The IBJA releases gold and silver prices twice daily, in the morning and evening.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract for August 5, 2026, rose by 1.18% to ₹1,60,392, while the silver contract for July 3, 2026, strengthened by 1.42% to ₹2,66,700.

Jatin Trivedi from LKP Securities noted that gold prices have remained within a range of around ₹1,59,300 per 10 grams, supported by a 1.5% decline in crude oil prices. However, the market remains cautious as traders await significant indicators from geopolitical tensions in West Asia, currency fluctuations, RBI policy outcomes, and upcoming U.S. non-farm payroll and unemployment data.

Technically, gold is receiving immediate support around ₹1,58,500, while resistance remains at ₹1,60,500.
