
New Delhi, June 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new record as the longest-serving elected PM in India. This milestone is being hailed as historic worldwide. Congratulations have poured in, with many leaders praising his leadership as a significant milestone in India’s democratic journey. They express eagerness to strengthen ties with India.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake remarked that this is a historic achievement. In a post on X platform, he stated, “Sri Lanka values its close and friendly relations with India and is keen to further enhance the strong partnership between our nations.” Dissanayake expressed confidence that the long-standing relationship between India and Sri Lanka will grow even stronger in the future.
On June 8, Dissanayake had also written to PM Modi, commending his leadership and describing this achievement as a reflection of the trust of the world’s largest democracy.
European Council President Antonio Costa also extended his congratulations to PM Modi on Wednesday. He noted, “Under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, India-EU relations have become stronger than ever.” Costa referenced the historic India-EU summit held this year, highlighting it as evidence of the growing strategic partnership between the two sides. He expressed eagerness to advance cooperation, partnership, and friendship with India, recognizing it as a crucial global partner and expressing a desire to collaborate across various sectors.
The wave of congratulations began a day earlier. Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister James Marape, in a video message, described PM Modi as “a role model and an example of leadership.” He acknowledged that lifting over 200 million people out of poverty is a significant achievement.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar also congratulated PM Modi, stating that under his leadership, India has emerged as a strong voice on global issues.
Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has strengthened its presence on the global stage in recent years. This is why leaders from neighboring countries to Europe have congratulated him and expressed their intent to deepen relations with India.
