New Delhi, August 26: Actors Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill are currently busy promoting their upcoming Punjabi film, ‘Singh Verses Kaur 2’. During a media meet in Delhi, they shared their experiences related to the film and expressed their excitement.
This film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill. It is set to release in theaters worldwide on September 11. Audiences can expect a full dose of comedy, romance, emotion, action, and drama.
In an interview, Gippy Grewal expressed his enthusiasm for the film, stating, “I am very excited about ‘Singh Verses Kaur 2’ and hope the audience enjoys it. Shehnaaz and I are working together for the first time. The first part received a lot of love from the audience, which raises our expectations for this sequel. The film features comedy, a love story, emotions, action, and drama. Such films are rare in Punjabi cinema, making this a unique experience for viewers.”
Gippy also discussed the film’s music, revealing that it includes seven songs ranging from romantic to desi and Bhangra numbers. Two songs have already been released, with another featuring B Praak set to debut soon.
He elaborated on his character, Nihal Singh, describing him as a desi boy from a village who often makes excuses to avoid work and sometimes lies. As the story unfolds, Nihal faces significant changes in his life, ultimately deciding to take on a major responsibility that brings various challenges.
Shehnaaz Gill also shared her excitement about the film, saying, “Those who know me understand that I prefer to be part of good projects, and ‘Singh Verses Kaur 2’ is one such fantastic project for me. I play the role of a Bengali girl. The reason for my character’s background and her role in the story will be revealed to the audience after watching the film. Portraying this character was not easy for me, as I am Punjabi, and I initially struggled with speaking Bengali. However, I received training that helped me perform the role effectively.”
Shehnaaz reminisced about the fun moments during the shoot, noting that the entire team enjoyed themselves, and there was a great atmosphere on set. When filming concluded, the team felt a bit sad, missing each other.
Directed by Navneet Singh, ‘Singh Verses Kaur 2’ features Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill alongside Prince Kanwaljeet Singh, Raghveer Boli, Honey Mattu, Gulzar Chahal, Rupinder Rupi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Gurmeet Sajan, and Bhana La. The film is produced by Gippy Grewal, Ravneet Kaur Grewal, Shreekant Mohta, and Mahendra Soni. The story is penned by Gurpreet Sehji, with the screenplay crafted by Kapil Chopra and Gurpreet Sehji. Dialogues are written by Chanchal Dabra and Gurpreet Sehji.
