New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Journalists from Germany and Russia have expressed admiration for India’s hospitality during the 2026 BRICS Summit in New Delhi. Ben, a German journalist, described his first visit to India as memorable, noting that this was the best media kit he had received in four attempts covering BRICS events. He appreciated the thoughtful design of the kit, which included Indian vegetarian superfoods, a coffee mug, and even a scarf, which he still carries.
He shared his experiences at the media center, acknowledging that while the Wi-Fi could use some improvement, the overall organization and quality of food were exceptional. “I really enjoy Indian tea,” he remarked, adding that despite warnings from friends about salads in India, he had no issues and loved the flavors. He noted the healthy and balanced nature of the Indian cuisine he encountered, particularly praising North Indian dishes.
Russian journalist Anastasia Golyakova echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the Indian cuisine served at the media center was a reflection of the country’s rich cultural diversity. Initially, she found it challenging to read the names of traditional dishes, but she was grateful to her Indian colleagues for explaining their significance. “The food was delicious and represented all regions of India,” she said.
Golyakova expressed a desire for the event to last longer than two days, hoping to cover more of India’s upcoming events in the future. She also commented on the media kit, likening it to a backpack filled with Indian specialties, including snacks and tea. “It was a touching gesture,” she added, praising the concept behind promoting India in such a thoughtful way.
Economist Ved Jain remarked on the significance of the BRICS Summit, highlighting that the group has evolved over two decades from its founding members—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—to include six additional countries. He noted that the primary aim is to foster economic cooperation among emerging and developing economies.
Jain pointed out the trade deficit India faces, particularly with China and Russia, and mentioned ongoing discussions to bridge this gap. He emphasized the need for international trade rules to prevent unilateral tariffs, a sentiment echoed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The summit has not only showcased India’s hospitality but also reinforced its role on the global stage in fostering economic dialogue and cooperation.
