Food Poisoning Strikes Wedding in Sehore, 200 Affected

Sehore, March 26: In a troubling incident near Bhopal, approximately 200 guests fell ill after consuming food at a wedding ceremony in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. Many reported symptoms including stomach pain and vomiting, with 50 individuals requiring hospitalization.

The wedding took place on Wednesday night in Babadiya Noabad village, located in the Ichhawar tehsil. Over 1,000 attendees were present, and while most enjoyed the meal, around 200 experienced severe discomfort. As conditions worsened for several guests, they were promptly taken to local health facilities.

Reports indicate that the discomfort began after consuming gulab jamun, a popular dessert. The deteriorating health of the guests prompted immediate medical attention, while the food department collected samples for analysis. Questions have arisen regarding the preparation of the food, as it was reportedly made on the same day.

Upon learning of the situation, local authorities mobilized quickly. Medical professionals and paramedical staff responded to the crisis, primarily affecting elderly attendees. Fortunately, many of those hospitalized have since been discharged.
