
Mumbai, May 18: A fire erupted on a passenger train at Sasaram Railway Station in Bihar’s Rohtas district early Monday morning. Upon receiving the alert, RPF Inspector Sanjeev Kumar rushed to the scene and notified the fire brigade. The firefighting team worked diligently to control the blaze.
The incident was reported around 5:30 AM. Fortunately, there were no casualties among passengers, thanks to timely actions that prevented a major disaster.
The Sasaram-Patna passenger train was stationed at the railway station when flames suddenly ignited in the fifth coach from the engine. The fire quickly escalated, resulting in the complete destruction of one coach, causing panic among passengers.
Inspector Sanjeev Kumar confirmed that they received the fire report at 5:30 AM. He stated, “There were no casualties. The fire brigade arrived promptly and managed to extinguish the flames. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.”
After the fire was brought under control, efforts were initiated to remove the affected coach. The train is expected to resume its journey approximately two hours later, following necessary adjustments.
